REQUIREMENTS

MIDTERM EXAM

The midterm exam may cover any of the material taken from the texts or anything we have done in the class up to the date of the exam.

FINAL EXAM

The final exam may cover any of the material taken from the texts or anything we have done in the class since the date of the midterm.

HOMEWORK AND PARTICIPATION:

Your homework and participation score will be based on your attendance and participation in class and on your work on various cases and other assignments as conducted in conjunction with the course. Therefore, top scores will require excellence and commitment.

BUSINESS AUDIT / ANALYSIS:

Service learning is a methodology that combines service to the community with academic and practical discovery for the student. With this methodology in mind, each student, or team of two students, will be responsible for working with a local small business owner in the task of analyzing their business. Contacts for the business plan can be made on your own, with my assistance, or through the Small Business Development Center (322-5881). In any case, I must approve your choice. You will work with your client to develop an analysis of their business and a plan for its future success. You will provide a copy of your report to your client and another to me. In addition, you will be asked to make a presentation of your analysis to the class (and your client, should they choose to attend).

-All work must be typed and double-spaced with normal margins and fonts unless otherwise specified.
