Request for Funding:
Please contact a CSUB-LSAMP coordinator or speak to your faculty advisor to obtain the Funding Request application. For a research stipend, a Funding Request application should be submitted to a CSUB-LSAMP coordinator or your faculty advisor near the end the semester. For all other funding requests, an application may be submitted at anytime.
LSAMP Funding Opportunities
For Eligible LSAMP Students participating in research with a faculty advisor:
Research Stipends – Stipend is dependent upon the amount of hours completed and faculty advisor recommendations. Requests for funding must be submitted on the Friday before the last day of classes. Stipends are distributed at the end of the term. CITI training or Phil 3318 required before stipend can be awarded.
Research Supplies - can be ordered through the LSAMP coordinator at any time during the term. A Request for Funding must be submitted along with a list of supplies, costs and ordering information (an email with links to the item is preferred). CITI training or Phil 3318 required before stipend can be awarded.
Summer Research and Supplies – For eligible LSAMP students participating in research with a faculty advisor. Stipend is dependent on the amount of hours and faculty advisor recommendations. Requests for funding must be submitted on the Friday before the last day of classes. Stipends are distributed at the end of the term. CITI training or Phil 3318 required before stipend can be awarded.
Conference Support – Financial support is available for registration fees and travel for students presenting their research at conferences such as the Emerging Researchers National Conference, American Chemical Society, Mathematical Association of America, and other STEM conferences recommended by a faculty advisor.
Graduate School Prep – includes activities that facilitate admission to graduate programs. For example, GRE prep, graduate school visits, assistance with applications and resumes, and assistance with application fees would all be included in this category.
International Activities – Funds are available for students participating in research in other countries.
Research Ethics Training
For research funding or materials, the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Responsible Conduct of Research (RSR) training is required. Students that have taken Phil 3318 or Phil 316 do not need this training.
The CITI Program is a service providing research ethics education to all members of the research community. This is a mandatory training if you have, or plan to receive funding for research through LSAMP.
