Move ahead.
This is an exciting time to study Physics and Engineering at CSU Bakersfield! Students will utilize our new state-of-the-art 5,000 square foot engineering facilities and physics laboratories. The programs include a strong foundation in physics and engineering. You will also be able to take elective courses from many areas, such as physics, energy engineering, power engineering, petroleum engineering, biosystems & agricultural engineering, electrical engineering, and computer engineering.
At CSUB, students enjoy exceptional opportunities to work closely with faculty. Classes are small and promote participation and interaction among students and faculty. The student to faculty ratio in the engineering core courses is the best in the CSU system. Even more important, the professors at CSUB are dedicated to undergraduate teaching. You will discover a supportive environment that leads to real learning.
The Department of Physics and Engineering at CSU Bakersfield offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics and a B.S. in Engineering Sciences. We also offer a Minor in Physics and a Pre-Engineering Program.
