In August 2007, my friend Paul the carpenter and I built a Pergola in the backyard. Karen was away for a conference and we had only five days to finish it before her return. It was her anniversary present. Thanks to Paul's expertise and experience, and the occasional help of another friend, Chris, we managed to build it before her return.
