Testimonials
"The Veterans Success Center has been one of the most influential departments I have been involved with at CSUB. With the help of the current leadership in the center, I have been able to come out of my shell and go after the things that will help in my career. I went to the center with hopes of finding that missing camaraderie, I found that in abundance. With the guidance of the coordinator, and many student workers, I found myself double majoring, being president of the Veterans Club, and being a part of the student government, ASI. I am a senior now, and a VP with the campus student government. I attribute my current leadership position, my outgoing personality, and my over-all confidence to the welcoming atmosphere of the Veterans Success Center at CSUB."
- Larry Gonzales, U.S. Army Veteran
"My introduction to the Veterans Success Center was in my interview for a work study position with Jamie Pacheco. I had just recently completed my active-duty contract with the military and felt so warmly welcomed back into the community I had just left thanks to Jamie's kindness. The Veterans Success Center gave me a place I could establish as my own amidst the chaos of starting fresh. And due to the welcoming nature of the CSUB Veterans Center staff I have made many friends and pursued many research opportunities I would have otherwise missed. I am currently a senior studying Biology at CSUB and cannot see myself being separated from such a great resource and community that the CSUB Veteran Success Center provides!"
- Andrew Alba, Air Force Veteran/Reservist
"The Veterans Success Center has pointed me in the right direction to be successful in a time where many veterans can feel lost coming out of the military. The people here have provided me a home within the campus where I felt comfortable and confident to complete my college journey."
- Liz Wood, Marine Corps Veteran
