Information for Employees
I Have COVID-19 Symptoms. What Do I Do?
Many options exist for those with symptoms. Staff and faculty experiencing COVID-19 symptoms can seek medical care using their insurance. There are also testing locations in the community and at-home tests available for purchase. Specific options include:
- Schedule an appointment with your primary care physician or local urgent care using your health insurance.
- Get an at-home test:
- at your local pharmacy
- at select locations on campus, while supplies last
- Find a free community testing site.
If you have had a workplace exposure to COVID, case management will notify you of the workplace exposure and will offer you testing at our workman's compensation location, Central Valley Occupation.
I Tested Positive. Now What?
If you test positive, call CSUB Case Management at 661-654-3453. They will handle all the notifications, follow-ups and final campus clearance associated with your case.
I Need Help With:
Covid vaccines and boosters
Find a vaccine at a local pharmacy or public health clinic. The definition of fully vaccinated includes all boosters recommended by the CDC, including the Bivalent booster. You are eligible for the Bivalent booster if it has been more than two (2) months since your last dose.Finding a mask
CSUB does not require masks at either the Bakersfield or Antelope Valley campuses. However, masks are highly recommended indoors, particularly the N95 or KN95 masks. The masks are available for free by calling 661-654-6320 or emailing srm@csub.edu. If you choose to wear a mask, your decision will be honored and respected at CSUB. CSUB does require masks in the Student Health Services facility. How Do I Decrease My Risk of Catching COVID-19?
Stay home if you are feeling sick, consider wearing a mask indoors and wash your hands frequently.
