Welcome to the CSUB Education Accreditation Website
California State University, Bakersfield, located in the southern San Joaquin Valley, opened in 1970. CSUB is a designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HIS) and is home to a socially, economically, and ethnically diverse population. Sixty-one percent of its undergraduate and 47% of its credential and graduate students identify as Latino. In Fall 2020, 7% of CSUB students were credential candidates and 7% of CSUB students were graduate-postgraduate students. Many CSUB students are first-generation university students. The missions of CSUB, the School of Social Sciences and Education, and the Educator Preparation Programs emphasize our educational commitment for this diverse region.
The Department of Teacher Education and the Department of Advanced Educational Studies house the majority of the programs in the EPP. The Bilingual Authorization, Reading Literacy Authorization, and the MA, Curriculum and Instruction program are offered through the Department of Teacher Education and are housed online through Extended Education. Our Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) program is housed in the School of Social Sciences and Education.
