Cal Grant Students with Dependents

Cal Grant eligible students that indicated they have a dependent on the FAFSA or Dream Act application are automatically flagged for the Cal Grant Students with Dependent (SWD) award by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). The student must self-certify each school year that they have a qualifying dependent under the age of 18 on their WebGrants for Students account through CSAC.

Students who feel they are eligible for the award but were not flagged as a potential SWD awardee by CSAC may contact the Cal Grant coordinator in the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships to have their file reconsidered.

Cost of Attendance Increase

A student may request an increase in their Cost of Attendance for dependent child care costs. Please log in to Student Forms to complete the appeal.
