The Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business at California State University, Bakersfield provides students with multiple prospects for internships or job opportunities within the center or at the Kern County Farm Bureau. Through this program, students will learn more about an industry that impacts our county and the world, while also learning crucial skills that will enhance their professional careers. Shantal Sanchez Almanza
Shantal Sanchez, a first-time freshman at California State University, Bakersfield, is pursuing a Pre-Health major with aspirations to enter the Nursing program and earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her ultimate goal is to become a labor and delivery travel nurse, driven by her passion for supporting mothers and their babies during one of life’s most significant moments. Sanchez is dedicated to her academic journey while also enjoying reading, running, going on walks, visiting the beach, watching movies, enjoying nature, sipping matcha, and exploring photography in her free time.
Ravneet Kaur

Simranjeet Kaur

Simranjeet Kaur is first-generation, international student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance. Currently, Kaur is honing her technical skills by learning SQL and Power BI to enhance proficiency in data analytics while preparing for the CFA Level I Exam. Kaur has a keen interest in data analytics and financial modeling. Upon graduation, Kaur aspires to contribute to these fields before eventually transitioning to investment banking. Kaur started interning for the Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business to assist the Executive Director with collecting and analyzing data as it relates to the local agriculture industry. In Fall 2024, Kaur was honored to be inducted into Alpha Chi for academic excellence, and enjoys spending quality time with her family or connecting with nature during her free time.

Erin Pruitt

Erin Pruitt started interning at the Grimm Family center for Agricultural Business during the first semester of her graduate studies at California State University, Bakersfield. Pruitt is a first-generation graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration and aspires to work in the field of Communications and Agriculture upon the completion of her degree. In her free time, Pruitt enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, playing with her dogs, and hosting dinners for her family and friends when she is not on campus, or focusing on her studies.
