The Following Are Pathways for Admission at CSU Bakersfield
First-Time Freshmen
You may qualify for admission as a first-time freshman if you meet the following requirements:

Are a high school graduate

Complete the required (a-g) college prep courses with a grade of "C-" or higher

Meet the SAT/ACT eligibility index with your grade point average
Online application for admission can be completed at www2.calstate.edu/apply during the filing period. Fall applications may be filed between October 1st-November 30th. Spring applications may be filed August 1st-30th.
Transfer Students
You may qualify for admission as a transfer student if you meet the following requirements:

Complete the 4 Basic Skills Requirements with a grade of "C-" or higher (A1. Oral Communication - A2. Written Communication - A3. Critical Thinking - B4. Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning)

Meet a minimum of 60 CSUB transferable semester units or 90 quarter units

Have a minimum 2.0 grade point average

Have good standing with your previous institution

ASSIST provides information about receiving credit at any California Public university for courses completed at other California public universities and applying these courses toward your academic goals when transferring.
