The office handles many of the academic matters that are university-wide in scope including:

 

  • Shepherding all new program proposals through the Approval Process
  • Coordination of the Periodic Review of all existing academic programs
  • Oversight of university-wide academic policies and procedures
  • Managing communications to and from the Chancellor's Office regarding academic matters
  • Managing the Institutional Accreditation efforts
  • Oversight  of CSUB's General Education Program
  • Oversight of the Helen Louise Hawk Honors Program
  • Oversight of CSUB's Interdisciplinary  Studies
  • Oversight of CSUB's Graduate Student Center AARC
  • Coordination of the First-year Experience and CSUB courses
  • Scheduling of GST courses
  • Oversight of the CA Promise Program
  • Oversight of Early Enrollment and Dual Enrollment for high school students
  • Handling student petitions for the Academic Petitions Committee
  • Coordination of student-initiated Academic Grievance hearings
  • Oversight of Graduate Programs and Policies
  • Administration of Graduate Equity Fellowships and Tuition Fee Waivers
