Web Administrator's Duties
Web Administrators Will:
- Maintain records of who is ultimately responsible for a website they host (most often referred to as the owner).
- Maintain a list by website of who has access to create, modify, or delete pages within that site.
- Enforce webpage redirects when sites are not repaired after a set amount of time of noncompliance.
Website Owners Will:
- Ensure that the websites meet CSU Web Accessibility Requirements (Section 508 standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 AA) through automated and manual evaluations.
- Conduct accessibility check on both html and non-html (Microsoft Office, PDF, video/audio, etc.) pages before publishing to web server.
- Fix errors or issues on the websites in a timely manner to avoid site redirection.
- Be responsible for site maintenance, update, and web ADA compliance.
In the event that the website cannot meet CSU Web Accessibility Requirements under current technology, alternatives must be available. The Section 508 compliance officer will be the authority in deciding if a site cannot be made compliant with current technology. When the fundamental functionality of a website cannot be made compliant, the Website Owner must provide materials in an alternative format that will accommodate users who cannot access the information.
