Overview of the Committee
Intent
The intent of the Accessible Technology Initiative Steering Committee is to lead our campus in supporting and adhering to the CSU, State, and Federal requirements for Accessibility. Committee members may be actively engaged in contributing knowledgeable perspectives regarding ATI challenges, opportunities, and needs; and engaged in active listening, communications, and collaboration. The primary focus is to support the ATI Working Group, the Technology Accessibility Review committee, and the ATI subcommittees on Procurement, Web, and Instructional Materials for the University.
Purpose
The purpose of the Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) Steering Committee is to support the ATI Officer and key functional committees in creating and sustaining a best in class environment that: addresses the university-wide accessibility needs and forward-thinking opportunities; seeks funding and resources; and manages customer service expectations and communications consistent with allocated resources and in support of the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of California State University, Bakersfield by championing ATI.
Objectives
The objectives of the Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) steering committee are to make decisions, recommendations, or policies that:
- Address needs/opportunities
- Address risks/compliance
- Establish/reaffirm needs/opportunities and policies and procedures as appropriate
- Define needs/opportunities priorities
- Determine needs/opportunities resource costs required to fulfill the recommendation(s)
Membership
The membership of Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) steering committee shall consist of the following, or their respective designee:
- Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer (Chair) – Chris Diniz
- Provost and Vice President, Academic Affairs – Deborah Thien
- Vice President, Business & Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer – Kristen Watson
- Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Support – Dwayne Cantrell
- Associate Vice President for Civil Rights & Compliance – Allan Williams
- Chair of the Academic Senate – Melissa Danforth
- ASI President – Anthonio Reyes
- Student Representative – TBD
- Student Representative – TBD
- Faculty Representative – TBD
- Staff Representative – TBD
The Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) Steering Committee shall be made up of our Executive Sponsors, Compliance Officer, ATI Officer, and campus staff, students, and faculty. Faculty representatives service term shall be 2 Academic years.
Meeting Schedules
The Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) Steering Committee shall meet twice annually or as needed to support the ATI activities of CSUB.
