Welcome to the CSUB Antelope Valley Library! Here, you will have access to a wide range of specialized services and resources that connect you to the entire CSU library system. Library Services

Research Assistance

Students have their own, on-site AV Librarian, Kristine Holloway. Students may call, email, meet via Zoom, or drop by the library and meet in her office, room 502! Students may also access 24/7 research help from their Library homepage under Chat Now. They may also contact their Subject Specialist Librarians.

Articles and Databases

Many articles can be retrieved through OneSearch or through our A to Z database list. This service allows students to access a vast array of journal articles easily and conveniently from any computer with Internet access. Articles not available electronically can be obtained through Resource Sharing.

Books

Books can be requested from the Library by students whether they are available at the CSUB Library or from other libraries. These books will be sent to your home and students will need to return them to the CSUB AV library or the front desk located in the 100 building. Students may have these books checked out throughout the entire semester. For more information about requesting or returning books, please contact the CSUB Library at (661) 654-3172.

Course Reserves

Hard copy course reserves are available at the CSUB AV Library. We have a limited number of titles on reserve. Some books are available as ebooks. You may check the Affordable Solutions List for your class. It is also possible to request a digital chapter of a book that is in use for a class if it is available through the CSUB Library or through Resource Sharing from other libraries. Please contact your librarian if you would like help with this.

Resource Sharing

Students may obtain books and articles from other libraries through Resource Sharing. Thanks to updates in software, we have a much quicker way of obtaining articles, books, and book chapters from other libraries. You may request articles in books under One Search from the Library web page or under Resource Sharing. Please check with your librarian for any questions on how to request books or articles.

Local Area Libraries

Be aware that local public libraries such as the Lancaster Branch of the county library system offer access to ebooks through Overdrive. Residents are also able to get their cards online. Please visit their respective web pages for information on how to do this.
