Welcome to the CSUB-ERFSA website! The CSUB Emeritus and Retired Faculty and Staff Association, working with the statewide organization (CSU-ERFSA), strives to secure and protect the rights & benefits of Bakersfield CSU retirees. In addition to providing vital information about pension and healthcare benefits, another important association goal is to keep CSUB retirees connected with each other and with potential activities on or near the Bakersfield campus.  Additionally, each month, we will feature a link to another CSU affiliate website to keep CSUB retirees in touch with items of interest at our sister campus retired faculty and staff organizations.  This month's featured affiliate campus is CSU Northridge, the host campus for CSU-ERFSA -- click the link on the top menu bar to visit their website.

 

Recent News

CSU-ERFSA seeks volunteers to be nominated for office or as delegate at large; all offices are open for election. Consider becoming active in the statewide organization and help us continue to make a difference for retirees!  Offices open for election are:  President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary.  Delegates at large attend State Council meetings twice a year to represent their campus.  Please contact Merry for more information.

CSU-ERFSA offers special dues program; half price membership sale through July 31, 2023.  Visit the CSU-ERFSA link for details about the membership sale along with application forms.

CSU-ERFSA Grant Awards

CSU-ERFSA offers grants of up to $2000 annually to retired faculty pursuing research or creative projects.  Follow the link for information about applying for a 2023 grant.

Check out CSUN ARF's website link in the banner.  CSUN is the host campus for CSU-ERFSA and kindly provides office space for CSU-ERFSA Staff, mailing privileges, telephones, computers and IT assistance.

Upcoming Events

CSU-ERFSA State Council meeting will be held on zoom in April 2023.  The hope is that in October 2023, State Council will be able to meet once again in person, while providing zoom access for those members who prefer to attend virtually.  In October,  Bakersfield can send one representative to the meeting with travel expenses reimbursed.  This is an important way to get involved at the statewide level as well as an opportunity to visit a sister CSU campus and get to know delegates from all the CSUs.  Please contact Merry if you'd like to volunteer to attend.

CSUB will host a reception for new emeriti and retiring faculty in April 2023 -- stay tuned for more details of date, time, and place.

CSUB-ERFSA Contributes

With funds accumulated in rebates from our parent organization, CSU-ERFSA, CSUB-ERFSA is poised to offer three scholarships of $500 each to first generation college students who are entering the field of education.  CSUB-ERFSA members can volunteer to serve on the selection committee in January, 2023.  Please contact Merry if you'd like to help with this important contribution to CSUB students.
