About Excel Scholars
Mission
Increase the access, retention, and graduation rates of underrepresented minority (URM) males.
Excel Scholars is open to all CSUB students with an interest in supporting and advancing the potential of undergraduate men of color. All eligible students are encouraged to apply and participate. Excel Scholars does not consider sex, gender or any other protected status as part of the application and selection process.
Goals
- Be a school of choice for Kern County URM males.
- Be a model CSU campus for retaining URM males.
- Eliminate the URM male equity gap.
