A post-baccalaureate or graduate student holds a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and wishes to continue their education for personal enrichment or meet professional needs via a certificate, credential, second bachelor's degree, master's degree, or doctoral degree.

Accreditation
University Accreditation
California State University, Bakersfield is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), 985 Atlantic Ave., Suite 100, Alameda, CA. 94501, (510) 748-9001, www.wscuc.org.
Program Accreditation
In addition, many of the individual graduate programs are accredited by their respective accrediting associations:

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).

The Master of Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
- The Master of Arts (MA) in Special Education and MA in Educational Administration are in the process of seeking accreditation from the Association for Advancing Quality
in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). All education credential programs are certified by
the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
- The Master of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is approved
by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- The Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) in California has approved the MS in Counseling Psychology as a licensure preparation program for marriage and family therapy (LMFT) and professional
clinical counselor (LPCC). The Master of Social Work also has BBS approval as a licensure
preparation program for clinical work (LCSW).
- CSUB is also a member of the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) and the Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS).
Admission Eligibility Requirements for Graduate Students
University Admission Requirements
- Completed a four-year college course of study and obtained an accepted baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution or shall have completed equivalent academic preparation as determined by appropriate campus authorities.
- Left in good academic standing at the last college or university attended
- Have attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 in an acceptable earned baccalaureate degree; or maintained a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 (4.0 scale/ A = 4.0) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted. Each graduate program may require a higher GPA and/or specific prerequisite courses.
- Met the professional, personal, scholastic, and other standards for graduate study, including qualifying examinations, as appropriate campus authorities may prescribe.
*The Office of Graduate Admissions completes a University Admissions Evaluation requiring at least one official transcript from all institutions attended. No admissions review will be made until all official transcript(s) are received.

International Admission Requirements

As an international applicant, you must meet the university and program admission requirements above, and submit the required documentation for your F1 or J1 to be issued.
