Human Performance Laboratory
The CSU Bakersfield Human Performance Laboratory is fully equipped with state of the art equipment. This includes:
- Metabolic measurement systems
- 12-lead EKG
- Treadmills
- Monark cycle ergometers
- Lactate analyzers and Glucometers
- Several methods to measure body composition
- Air-Displacement Plethysmography (Bod Pod)
- Skinfold Calipers (Lange)
- Bioelectric Impedance Analyzers (BIA)
The laboratory is also used as a classroom for Physiology of Exercise Laboratory and Exercise Test and Prescription Laboratory sections.
CSU Bakersfield faculty and students study the various factors that define and influence human movement. Students experience the cross-disciplinary foundations of the field of Kinesiology while gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge related to the biological, physical, socio-cultural, philosophical, and psychological factors underlying all forms of physical activity.
