New Students and Family Weekend

New Students and Family Weekend (NSFW) is a campus-wide celebration that will ensure first-time freshmen and transfer students make a successful transition to California State University, Bakersfield. All new students and their families are encouraged to attend the free events, participate in fun activities, join clubs, meet new friends, explore the campus, and experience what it's like to be a part of the CSUB family.

 

Whether you are moving into Student Housing or just ready to get connected, we hope you and your families will join us for a weekend filled with free events to celebrate and welcome you as a new student! These events are scheduled the weekend before Fall term.

 

New Student Convocation is a formal ceremony where we officially recognize and welcome our newest students, their families/friends into the CSUB community. During the ceremony, new students are pinned by a parent/friend as a symbol of commitment and the start of their educational journey at CSUB.
