Toyo University - Visiting Faculty Program 2027 Awardee!
We are excited for Dr. Malek's collaboration with Toyo University in Japan. While lecturing both undergraduate and graduate students, Dr. Malek also plans to expand CSUB's current Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Training Program!
The AWS Collaboration will offer CSUB and Toyo students alike the opportunity to gain hands-on training in AWS cloud technologies and services, such as virtual servers, databases, networking, and other industry-relevant technologies.
Dr. Malek initiated CSUB's official partnership with AWS in April 2022 and is an authorized AWS Academy instructor. To date, 10 AWS training sessions and classes have been conducted with CSUB, serving more than 200 students. This initiative represents an important step in strengthening the partnership between CSUB and Toyo University! Join us in congratulating Dr. Malek!
Toyo University - Visiting Faculty Program 2026 Awardee
Dr. Susa was very well-received by our counterparts at Toyo University as one of CSUB's bilateral exchange partners. Dr. Susa delivered special lectures to both undergraduate and graduate students at Toyo's Kawagoe campus. Some topics of Dr. Susa's expertise particularly focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the psychological mechanisms behind unconscious biases and stereotypes that all individuals have.
Toyo university students benefited greatly from exploring cross-cultural issues and interpersonal relationships in Dr. Susa's visiting lectures. Dr. Susa also considerately coordinated with Toyo University counterparts to provide partial Japanese interpretation for students to follow along the English-conducted lectures.
We'd like to thank Dr. Susa once more for being a successful representative of CSUB and our Bakersfield community as a potential Exchange program destination for Toyo University students! Join us in congratulating him!
