One of the first obligations each member has, both to herself and to Phi Sigma Sigma, is scholastic excellence. When a woman accepts a bid from Phi Sigma Sigma, she indicates her willingness to do her best to live up to this responsibility. This means she will strive to meet the scholarship requirements for initiation and maintain exemplary scholarship after initiation. The very fact that a woman has joined Phi Sigma Sigma means that she has the ability to succeed. The university setting has many opportunities for leadership and involvement, but the top priority in college is academic success.
Phi Sigma Sigma ladies treat our education as a high priority. In order to encourage superior scholarship, we have a Scholarship committee that organizes Study Buddies, tutoring, study groups, and scholarship improvement programs for sisters that need help. The Scholarship chairman holds Professor/Course ratings, book list and advising assistance. Academic excellence is celebrated through our "A Board" which displays sister receiving A's on their papers, exams and labs. The Scholarship committee also hosts a quarterly "A Is For Apple Scholarship Raffle!"
