What is the Transfer Success Pathway Program?
The new Transfer Success Pathway program is our new Dual Admission Program and is designed to increase access to the CSU. If you faced academic, financial or personal hardships that prevented you from attending the CSU, this program could help you get to the CSU to earn your degree. Students must be enrolling into a Califonia Community College with plans to transfer to a CSU within 2-3 years.
Program Application
We are no longer accepting new agreements for 2024 first-time freshmen, who are currenlty attending a California Community College. Agreements will reopen August 1, 2025 for Spring 2025 high school graduates.
Transfer Planner
The CSU Transfer Planner can be utilized by TSP students and any California Community College Student planning on transferring to a CSU. This new user-friendly tool allows community college students to enter into an agreement with CSUB, enter their coursework, and track how their progress aligns with the CSU's general education and major-specific requirements. Existing TSP students and CCC students are encouraged to log in or create their free CSU Transfer Planner account today at https://csutransfer.myliaison.com.

FAQs
What are benefits of joining the tsp program?
TSP students receive future guaranteed admission to CSU Bakersfield, have a designated TSP Advisor who can assist them during their transfer journey, and have access to the CSU Transfer Planner to help them stay on track to transfer. Students will also have the opportunity to connect to their future campus early on in the transfer process through campus tours, access to our Transfer Resource Center, limited campus library access, and attend various public campus events.
What do students receive from completing the CSUB TSP program?
TSP students will have guaranteed future admission to CSU Bakersfield and their degree program upon completion of the transfer requirements. Students will also have the opportunity to connect to their future campus early on in the transfer process.
ARE ALL FRESHMEN STUDENTS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY TO THE TSP PROGRAM?
Graduating high school students who are unable to attend a CSU immediatley out of high school for various reasons and are planning on attending a California Community College are encouraged to apply. Students should be planning on transferring to a CSU as an upper-division transfer; completed a minimum of 60 transferable semester units/90 quarter units, completion of Gloden 4 courses with a grade of C- or better, and 2.0 GPA.*

How will a student know they have completed the transfer requirements?
TSP students will receive personalized guidance with their CSUB Transfer Success Pathway Advisor who will assist them with the transfer process. Additionally, students will also be able to map out their coursework using the CSU Transfer Planner portal to ensure they stay on track for their degree.
Is a student eligible to apply to multiple TSP programs?
A student can only enter into one agreement with a given CSU campus, however they can follow multiple programs via the Transfer Planner. They can also apply for admission at various CSU campuses, however they will only have guaranteed admission to the campus that they entered into the TSP agreement with. Additionally, TSP students can attend multiple community colleges (but will need to designate a primary college via the Transfer Planner).
How long does it take to transfer to a CSU?
A student entering into a TSP agreement must transfer within 3 years. *Students who are also enrolled in Kern Promise and/or completing and ADT at their community college, must transfer within 2 years.
Is it possible for a student to end their CSUB TSP agreement?
A student can request to be released from their TSP agreement at anytime. They may request a release via their Transfer Planner or contact their TSP Advisor and request release.
Is it possible to switch TSP agreements to a different program?
If a student decides they want to switch their major or enter into an agreement with another campus, they must submit a request for release and allow time for the campus to review. The ability to select another campus or major is only during their enrollment period between August 1 and September 30th.

If you plan to transfer to CSUB from Bakersfield College, you can use our Program Pathways Mapper (PPM). The Program Pathways Mapper (PPM) is a tool used to clarify the pathways to graduation for native CSUB students and transfers. At-a-glance the Program Map displays general education, major and elective courses needed to graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
Students, faculty, and advisors can browse Program Maps by School, or search by keyword. Each listing includes career information with current salary and growth statistics to assist students in finding the right degree program to meet their needs.
