Welcome! We are excited that you are considering becoming a Roadrunner at CSU Bakersfield!
We understand the redirection process can be confusing and that you may have unresolved questions. We encourage you to visit the What is Redirection? page from the CSU for more information.
As a redirected applicant, you will be conditionally admitted to CSU Bakersfield based on self-reported information when you previously applied to our sister CSU campus. This information, however, has not been verified and you MUST submit official transcripts to verify your eligibility before you can register for classes at CSUB no later than July 1st for fall admissions.

Becoming a `Runner, Next Steps
Once CSU Bakersfield has received your application you will be notified via email and provided with your CSUB ID# as well as instructions on how to log in to your myCSUB portal. Follow these important next steps to prepare for your first term at CSU Bakersfield.
Failure to adhere to deadlines may result in admissions being withdrawn or rescinded.
We encourage you to file your your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible and have it sent to CSU Bakersfield. The FAFSA is used to award federal grants, loans, work-study and certain scholarships. For the estimated cost of attendance at CSUB, visit the Cost of Attendance webpage, and select the appropriate academic year.
Students who submit their FASFA early may be able to view their financial aid award letter beginning March, which gives you plenty of time to decide whether or not to accept your offer of admission.
Search and apply for departmental and private scholarships through Roadrunner Scholarship Universe between January 1st - March 1st.

Official transcripts are required to validate your eligibility for admission and to provide credit for transferable courses (transfer students).
Review your to-do list on myCSUB on what to submit. You may be required to send in official in-progress transcripts (if not already done so) and official final transcripts from institutions previously attended or are currently attending.
Note: Electronic delivery is the preferred delivery method. Verify with your school if an electronic transcript is available. Electronic transcripts can be provided through external or third-party vendors (Credential Solutions, eTranscriptCA, National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, etc.). When ordering your transcript, please choose California State University Bakersfield as the intended recipient from the school name dropdown. If California State University Bakersfield is not listed, please use incomingtranscripts@csub.edu as the recipient email address.

IMPORTANT: If, after validation and verification you do not meet eligibility, your offer of admission may be rescinded and courses enrolled in canceled.
All first-year students are expected to live on campus in one of CSUB’s residential communities. You will live with students who share similar academic majors. Transfer students are encouraged, but not required, to live on campus.
Students interested in living on campus will need to complete your University Residence Hall contract online with your housing advance payment or apply online with a Private Certified Housing facility. For more information or to apply visit CSUB Student Housing & Residence Life.
New Student Orientation is the place to get started as a Roadrunner. All new students are required to complete the 2-step orientation process.
- Log into your myCSUB portal and complete the online orientation via the link on your To Do List.
- Register for the Runner Rundown via the 2nd link on your To Do List and pay the required orientation fee.
All incoming students are required to meet with an academic advisor. In order to schedule an academic advising appointment, you must:
- Be admitted to the university
- Submit your Intent to Enroll
- Submit official transcripts
- If you are a transfer student, transfer course work posted
