Personal Stories

Personally, I really enjoyed my summer internship at the Kern County Farm Bureau through the Grimm Family Center. From creating social media posts to communicating with the members, there was a wide variety of skills I learned that will be beneficial to my future career. One of the highlights was assisting the Executive Director in membership recruitment events, which provided invaluable hands-on experience. This opportunity not only enhanced my professional skills but also allowed me to build connections and expand my network.

GFCAB funds helped me in the purchasing of materials necessary to carry out my research like books. These funds also give the opportunity to students to take on research projects who do not have the financial resources to do so without pay. In my case, I was able to pay for daycare for my daughter while I conducted my research. Hence, I am grateful for the opportunity to conduct research, and the funds aided my ability to be able to do so.
