This page is dedicated to returning CSUB students, transfers, and upper division students.
Living on campus is a great way to ensure that you will have a solid connection to your University, as well as these Top 5 Reasons Why
Space is Limited!
What does that mean?
- Some incoming first-time freshman students are required to live on campus, so they will have priority.
- A limited number of spaces are reserved for upper division, retuning, and transfer students.
- Because space is not guaranteed, the sooner you submit your application, the more likely you are to get an upper division space!
- Upper division students can select their roommate!
How Do I Apply?
Any available spaces will be awarded based on the date that your application was submitted, including your $50 application fee and $150 down payment.
Fall 2024 applications open March 15th at 10am.
Click CSUB Housing Portal to apply!
On the housing application you will:
- Make your initial payment ($50 for application fee + $150 for down payment).
- Select your top room type preferences
- Pick your roommate
You will receive a confirmation email when your application is complete and you have signed your license agreement.
Room confirmations and placements OR your number on the wait list will be shared in June.

Cancellations
The last day to cancel campus housing for Fall semester without financial penalty is July 15th, 2024. To cancel your housing, go to your CSUB Housing Portal, select the application you wish to cancel, then follow the instructions for Housing Cancellation. *This option is only available prior to checking in.
