Housing Priority: First-Time Freshmen
Students who seize all that a university education has to offer excel both academically and socially. That is why CSU Bakersfield requires all first-time freshmen who must commute a considerable distance to campus to live in student housing. All first-year freshmen live in a special community within the residence halls, navigating the college experience together. In your community, you have access to academic, social, wellness and awareness events, and have the opportunity to grow and flourish in a safe, supportive environment. Living among your peers improves academic performance, graduation rates, and builds community and lifelong friendships.
