Dear Faculty and Staff,
As we return to our day-to-day lives from time away with our families and friends, I want to welcome you back to campus for the new year and the countdown to the spring semester.
Just days ago, President Zelezny said her final goodbyes to her CSUB family and encouraged us to continue the legacy of her extraordinary tenure, which saw this university rise to meet the moment for our students and the region while articulating a new and brighter vision for the future.
Each and every one of us was part of the team responsible for that transformation. It is my honor and privilege to continue that progress — and build on it — as Interim President.
And I will need your help and ideas.
In the coming weeks, I look forward to connecting with the campus community, engaging in conversations and listening to what you have to say. I learned early in my career that a true leader serves with humility and a genuine commitment to collaboration. In that spirit, my door is open. I have made the transition to the Office of the President, and I encourage you to reach out to me with your thoughts, suggestions and hopes for the university.
Change evokes a rush of feelings, but this is an exhilarating time in the life of CSUB, and it is my hope that the optimism and excitement of President Zelezny’s presidency will grow and flourish in the year to come.
I am so proud to be part of this supportive, talented, magnanimous community.
I am proud to be a `Runner.
