PDF format is always ideal for printing. For photo prints, we recommend the formats:
.PSD, TIFF or EPS. (note: although .jpg is popular it is a low resolution compressed
file for use on the web only and does NOT print well)
In most cases, no. Please check with the Graphic Arts Department to make sure your
proof is a high quality PDF and has been fully processed. There are many steps that
must be taken to make your file print ready.

No. The CSUB Printshop works with Public Affairs to maintain a unified look for the
overall campus; all stationery (printed and electronic) is only to be produced by
the CSUB Print Shop.
It’s a good idea to know what kind of paper you’ll be printing on before you design
your project, that way you can tailor your design to match the paper and finish. A
sleek design might be best suited to a smooth paper while paper with a silk or matte
finish might be better for a subtle theme.

- Matte stocks are a good choice for a more subtle appeal, and suggest exclusivity
- Paper stocks with a gloss finish are well-suited for grabbing attention; gloss helps colorful designs pop off the page
- When printing in color it is not advisable to use a color paper. White paper is best for most applications, since color can be printed.
- Gloss paper tends to smear when written on so this type of paper should not be used for forms or brochures that include a form
Below is our primary university logo and seal. For more information on our logos,

The official university colors are Pantone Blue 661C and Pantone Yellow 123C.

When preparing your files for printing, be sure to preflight your files for colors,
fonts and file resolution.

- Allow for bleeds; 1/8 inch beyond the borders
- Provide all fonts are convert fonts to outlines
- Spell check your document
- Make sure all colors are Spot or CMYK
- Supply all linked files (if using InDesign or publisher, please package your file)
- Provide a high resolution PDF
- Make sure the size is correct; Page size or Envelope size
- Eliminate all unnecessary files
- Fill out the webprint order exactly how you want it printed.
- If you need a hard copy proof prior to printing, choose "Complete proof requested" after adding your document to the cart.
