CalSWEC Title IV-E Stipend Program 

The CalSWEC Title IV-E Stipend Program is designed to support Master of Social Work (MSW) students through a collaboration between the university's School of Social Work, public human service agencies, and related professional organizations. This partnership ensures that education is closely aligned with practical field experience, fostering the delivery of culturally competent and effective services to communities across California. Funded by Title IV-E, the program offers financial assistance to MSW students in return for their commitment to work in a public child welfare agency within the state. Each year of financial support requires one year of service, with a maximum requirement of two years. 

Financial Assistance for Full-Time MSW Students

This program provides full-time MSW students with a stipend of $25,000 annually for up to two years. Advanced standing students can receive a one-year stipend of $25,000.

Financial Assistance for Part-Time MSW Students

Part-time students who are employed by a California County or Tribal Social Services Agency and have their employer's support may qualify for this program. It offers up to $19,141 per year in reimbursements for up to three years, covering tuition, fees, books, and travel expenses. Applicants must provide a letter of support from their agency administrator or director.
