Antelope Valley Veterans Success Center

“My name is George Huleis, and I am currently enrolled at California State University, Bakersfield, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. I expect to graduate in Spring 2025. My academic interests include management, marketing, and sales. I was born in 2002 at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada, and spent the majority of my childhood at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. After my father retired from the United States Air Force following twenty years of service, my family relocated to the Antelope Valley to be closer to our extended family in Los Angeles. Growing up on military bases instilled a deep appreciation within me for the sacrifices of service members, inspiring me to assist local veterans and their dependents in the Antelope Valley. During my time at Antelope Valley College and CSUB-AV, I have been employed as a student worker in an effort to support the veteran community. I am appreciative to be in positions that allow me to work with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs alongside both academic institutions and serve our demographic of veteran families. I also actively participate in veteran club meetings and perform at local outreach events to inform and provide additional assistance. Although I independently serve as the primary contact for CSUB-AV's Veterans Success Center location, our collective mission is to raise awareness about the educational benefits available to veterans and their families to help alleviate potential financial burdens as they pursue their educational goals.”
