Program review is a faculty-led process for evaluating and continuously improving the quality and currency of academic programs and aligning with departmental, school, and institutional goals. The review combines self-evaluation, peer-evaluation by a reviewer external to the institution, and peer-evaluation by reviewers within the institution. The results of the evaluation process are used to inform follow-up planning and budgeting processes at various levels in the institution. Program review typically recurs every five to seven years.

University Program Review Committee (UPRC)
The UPRC, with the assistance of the Office of Academic Programs, is responsible for the program review process. The UPRC consists of one tenured faculty member elected by each of the four schools, two at-large tenured faculty members elected by the General Faculty, one tenured faculty member appointed by the Academic Senate Executive Committee, and a non-voting member, the AVPAA or designee (ex officio). The faculty members serve two-year suggested terms. Program review aims to maintain and strengthen the quality of the university's curriculum and its ability to meet the challenges of the future.
