There are a few steps you can take to make sure you have a smooth admissions experience:

- Activate your myCSUB portal using the CSUB ID# provided
- Check myCSUB portal regularly for updates to your admission status, and for any items noted on your "To Do" list. Send us any items listed by the posted deadlines.
- Submit official transcripts with 7th semester or fall grades posted by February 17th for Fall semester and September 15th for spring applicants.
Admission Decisions
CSUB will release admission decisions for applicants in two waves to all students who applied by the application deadline.
Wave One:
CSUB will offer provisional admission to a select number of applicants late September, for our spring incoming class and in early December for our fall incoming class. If you are provisionally admitted, you will receive an email communication and may view your offer of admission on your myCSUB portal.
For students who do not receive an early admissions decision, this is not a denial decision. We would just like to review your application more in-depth, please be patient with us.
Wave Two:
CSUB will release all remaining admission decisions for students who applied by the spring application deadline by late November for spring applicants, and in early Februray for fall applicants.
If you did not receive an admission decision:
Our team will continue to evaluate applications that were received after the application deadline. These decisions will be released on a rolling basis until complete.
Stay on Track!
Initial provisional admission decisions will be based on the course information you reported on your application. The initial decision is based solely on the following items and may be rescinded or canceled upon verification of high school transcripts:
- Completion of college preparatory courses A-G course list
- Grade point average (GPA) in college preparatory courses
Keep Your Grades Up!
If you are provisionally admitted, courses you listed on your application as in-progress or planned must be completed with grades of C or higher by the end of the spring term. You must also maintain your reported overall grade point average. If you earn a grade of D or F during your senior year, or if your grade point average drops below what was reported on your application, or if you misreported a required course, your offer of provisional admission may be withdrawn and/or canceled.
Admission Status Check
Check your myCSUB web portal for the latest information on your admission status. Fall provisional admission notices will be available by mid-February in your myCSUB portal (Spring admissions notices by October/November). Your student portal is where you can view admissions information, financial aid information, To Do List, any holds on your account and eventually register and pay for classes.
If you are denied admission, or if you miss an admission deadline, it is unlikely that our decision will be reversed on appeal unless you have serious and extenuating circumstances. Learn about our appeals process here.
