Dr. Donald E. Carter - Dr. Carter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Physical Sciences from the University of La Verne. He earned a life Single Subject Credential in Physical Science and Mathematics from ULV in 1976 and began his teaching career that year as a science and mathematics teacher at Bakersfield High School and began coaching at his high school alma mater, West High. While still teaching, he returned to CSUB to further his education, earning both a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration and a credential in Educational Administration in 1985. He continued in the classroom until 1989 when he began his administrative career as Dean of Students at East Bakersfield High, followed by Assistant Principal of Instruction/Technology at Bakersfield High School.
After receiving a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of La Verne
in 1994, he served as Director of Business Administration for the Kern High School
District, Principal of Bakersfield High School, and KHSD Associate Superintendent
for Instruction. In addition to an impressive career in administration, he has taught
at the college level at Bakersfield College, University of La Verne, and Point Loma
University.
Dr. Carter went on to become superintendent of the Kern High School District, California's
largest 9-12 high school district with more than 35,000 students and 3,500 employees.
Monique Rogers - Ms. Rogers earned a BA in Communications in 1998 and currently is the Corporate Administrator and Marketing Director at ARRC Technology. Rogers began working for ARRC Technology in 1994, a company established by Alex Rogers in 1992. Through hard work and perseverance, the Rogers' built their company from humble means to a multi-million dollar corporation specializing in the service and design of computers, networks, phone systems managed technology services and structured cabling. They now exclusively offer CharTec, a managed services and hardware as a service (HaaS) solution to other technology companies nationwide. CharTec is also the largest MSP training facility located in North America.
She is actively involved in the Bakersfield community serving on the boards of the San Joaquin Hospital Foundation, Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce and Boys and Girls Club. She stays active in government and politics, even hosting a visit from Senatorial candidate and former Hewlett-Packard CEO, Carly Fiorina in 2010 as well as a women's round table and visit from Governor Schwarzenegger in 2006. Most recently, she was awarded the 2010 CSUB Alumni Award by Lambda Pi Eta for excellence in the field of Communications and was honored in the 2011 and 2010 CRN's list of Top Women in Technology.
Beth Rienzi - After earning a BA in Psychology, Magna Cum Laude and her MA in Behavioral Sciences from CSU Bakersfield and her Ph.D. in Professional Psychology from then-California State College Bakersfield and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1983, Dr. Beth Rienzi ('74. '78) has spent her nearly 30 year career in higher education, most recently as the Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs at CSU Bakersfield.Rienzi is nationally and regionally recognized as a leader in the field of psychology serving on many professional boards and honorary associations.
Rienzi has also served her community as a consultant for Early Childhood Education Program Home Base/ Head Start Programs, Organizer and Director, Adult Scout Troop Leader Girl Scouts, Brownies, Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts, Officer and member on various PTA and school related committees at Grammar, Middle, and High School levels, Contract Researcher and Consultant CalWORKS Project under California Institute of Mental Health, Program Evaluator/ Program Consultant Kern County Department of Mental Health, Licensed Psychologist & Deafness Specialist for the Tulare County Department of Mental Health, Program Director. Rienzi is also a Licensed Psychologist and had a private practice for over sixteen years before beginning her career in education. As a leader, mentor and educator in the field of psychology, Rienzi has been an advocate for women and girls, most notably as a supporter of the Women and Girls Fund through the Kern Community Foundation founding a group of CSUB women that annually donate to the fund in the name of CSUB.
