Graduate Hooding and Credential Ceremony

Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 8AM

Location: CSUB Main Campus - Main Soccer Field

  • School of Arts and Humanities
  • School of Business and Public Administration
  • School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering
  • School of Social Sciences and Education

All doctoral, master's and credential candidates.

General Information

  • Venue Opens: One (1) hour prior to the ceremony start time.
  • Parking: All parking lots on-campus are complimentary (no fee) to park. It is prohibited to park in the Market Place across the street from the campus.
  • Seating: Seating is first-come, first-served. There are wheelchair and motorized device accessible areas. 
  • Guest Tickets: Guests four (4) years and older are required to have a guest ticket to enter the venue. Guest tickets can be printed or saved on an electronic device to be scanned at the guest entrance. Guest tickets are issued to graduates electronically through the RSVP system.
  • Lap Children: Lap children are three (3) years and younger are not required to have a guest ticket.

Prohibited Items

In an effort to make commencement a pleasant experience for all guests and participants, the following items are prohibited at commencement:

  • Purses, backpacks, and totes (Clear backpacks/purses are acceptable)
  • Umbrellas
  • Air horns
  • Noise makers
  • Signs
  • Balloons
  • Beach balls
  • Outside food/drinks. Exception: Formula and/or food for infants, toddlers, and for medical needs.
  • Camera tripods
  • Selfie sticks
  • Alcohol
  • Illegal drugs/narcotics
  • Fireworks
  • Firearms/weapons
  • Smoking, vaping and other tobacco-related products. CSUB is a smoke-free campus.

Violation of these rules will result in removal from the venue.

Livestream

Flowers and T-Shirt Vendor

The Commencement Group will be set up inside and outside the venue for flower purchases, CSUB bead necklaces, and the Class of 2024 T-shirts with the graduates' names.*

*Graduates who were added after the deadline of April 24, those names won't be included on the t-shirts.
