Basic Services
Student Health Services (SHS) gives CSUB students access to physicians and nursing staff, plus in-house clinical laboratory, health promotions and pharmacy services. In-person and over-the-phone (Telehealth) appointments are currently offered. As a nationally accredited Ambulatory Health Clinic, the SHS provides quality medical care that is accessible and affordable.
The Student Health Services laboratory is available to CSUB students for blood counts, urinalyses, throat cultures, pregnancy testing and more! Most lab tests are performed on site; those needing further analysis or specialty testing are sent to a partnering lab.
All lab services are covered through the mandatory student fees, Family Pact or the Health Equity Insurance.
Other information about the lab:
-
We can complete lab orders from outside healthcare providers.
-
You are not required to have your labs drawn at Student Health Services.
-
If needed, our medical assistant/referral specialist will direct you to local draw stations that may accept your insurance.
Our pharmacy features both prescription and over-the-counter medications. Our prices are highly competitive and frequently lower than outside pharmacies. Prescription and over-the-counter pharmacy counseling is available and provided by the CSUB SHS Pharmacist. Over-the-counter medications include:
- Cough and cold remedies
- Cough drops
- Tylenol
- Pregnancy tests
- Condoms
- And more!
We fill prescriptions written by SHS healthcare providers; we can also fill prescriptions written by outside providers. Family PACT (if applicable) prescriptions can be filled at CSUB SHS Pharmacy as long as they are written by our in-house Family PACT physicians (unfortunately, we are unable to fill off-campus Family PACT prescriptions).
Patients are not required to use the SHS Pharmacy to fill prescriptions written by SHS Physicians.
The pharmacy and clinic hours are the same. For questions, please call the SHS Pharmacy at (661) 654-3304.
