Greetings, from the College Dean

Welcome to Fall semester 2024! My name is Luis Vega and I have the privilege and honor of serving as interim dean select of the College of Social Science and Education (SSE).

This term I will be finishing three decades of proud service to CSUB, and in the collective effort of fellow faculty, staff, and administration, I rejoice in the privilege to contribute to the academic success of CSUB students. 

Our college of SSE is a place where students’ academic, professional, and personal aspirations coalesce and concretely contribute to the economic mobility of our region and beyond. 

We seek to create catalysts for positive change by preparing the leaders of the future in education and the social/behavioral sciences—as teachers, social workers, counselors, law enforcement, lawyers, sociologists, anthropologists, civic leaders and more.

I invite you to explore our website to access the many resources we have, from baccalaureate degrees, to credentials, to master’s degrees, to ongoing events sponsored by our departments and programs.
