ITS Support Services provides Automated Test Grading services to faculty members of CSUB. The Automated Test Grading system supports the general purpose forms no. 30423 and no. 4887. The Automated Test Grading Office is located in Lab A located in the lower level of the Walter Stiern Library. Process
To have your tests graded:
- Fill out your answer key following the steps listed here.
- Bring your forms with the key on top in a campus mail envelope or manila folder to
Lab A.
- For each version or batch to a be a scanned a separate key is required.
- Fill out a cover sheet and place it on top of the key.
- For each version or batch to be a scanned a separate cover sheet is required.
- Drop your test(s) off with the lab consultant to be graded, you will be notified via an email when your test(s), and key(s), are ready for pickup. Your finished report will be attached in your email. The test(s), and key(s), will be available within 2 business days under normal circumstances.*
*Accommodations can be made for emergency requests if ITS is notified at the time of the request.
Picking Up
Your test(s) and key(s) will be ready for pickup within two business days. Your finished report will be attached in your email. The table below illustrates the day your test(s) and key(s) will be ready for pickup given the day they were dropped. For example, if you drop off your tests on Monday, they will be ready on Wednesday for pickup. This table reflects a normal work week with no holidays.

Reports Offered
Our Automated Test Grading system offers 4 different report types.
Results Grid
Lists students Names and IDs with the number of questions they got right and how many they left blank. It also includes their percentage, raw score, and the answer they marked for each question.
Class Roster
Shows the number of Exams graded, Highest Score, Lowest Score, Average, and the Median. Also, lists students Names and IDs with their score, percentage, and grade.
Item Analysis
Lists each question and shows what number/percent of the students marked which answer per question. Shows the number/percent of times the question was right or wrong.
Detailed Item Analysis
Same as Item Analysis, but it also includes Standard deviation for the scores and Disc. Index for each question.
