I-20 and Visa Information
Receiving your I-20
Once you are admitted to CSUB, we will issue you an I-20. Your I-20 will be signed electronically by CSUB’s Designated School Official. Please print, sign, and date page 1 before your visa appointment.
Visa Information
To get an F-1 visa, you will need to pay your I-901 fee. To pay your I-901 fee. Please follow the instructions on the website to pay the fee. You will need your SEVIS ID number to pay your I-901 fee. Your SEVIS ID number can be found on your I-20. When asked for CSUB’s SEVIS code, enter SFR214F01407000. Please follow the instructions below to complete your visa application and set your appointment.
Identify the U.S. Embassy or Consulate that is most convenient for you to visit. Visit their website, and follow the instructions on the site to:
· Pay your visa fee
· Complete your online DS-160 online visa application [ceac.state.gov]
· Get a list of all required documents/items you need to have for your appointment
· Schedule your visa interview appointment

Your visa can only be renewed outside of the United States.
Make sure to have at least six months of validity on your passport from the day you plan to enter the United States. Once your visa is issued, you can enter the United States up to 30 days before your program start date.
