Recommended Self-evaluation tools for Web Accessibility
WAVE
WAVE is a web accessibility evaluation tool developed by WebAIM.org. It provides visual feedback about the accessibility of your web content by injecting icons and indicators into your page. You can use either WAVE online evaluation tool by copy/paste your URL address or WAVE Chrome and Firefox extensions which allows you to evaluate web content for accessibility issues directly within Chrome and Firefox browsers.
Cynthia Says
Cynthia Says identifies errors in Web content related to Section 508 standards and/or the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) guidelines for Web accessibility. Cynthia Says allows you to test individual pages on websites and provides feedback in a reporting format that is clear and easy to understand.
WebAIM
WebAIM Color Contrast Checker allows you to enter or select foreground and background colors and provides functionality to lighten or darken the colors slightly to find acceptable contrast levels. Additionally it displays the contrast ratio based on the WCAG 2.1 luminosity formula and indicates if the colors pass the WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements for normal text and large text.
WCAG 2.1 level AA requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
