About the Department
The Business Office provides operational and administrative support for Information Technology Services (ITS). Our role is to maintain compliance, efficiency, and accuracy in all administrative endeavors while supporting the University's mission and long-term objectives.

- Student Opinion of Curriculum and Instructions (SOCI) Processing
Switchboard Operations
The Switchboard serves as the first contact for callers and direct contact for students, staff, and vendors at California State University, Bakersfield. All calls are routed to the appropriate departments in a courteous and timely manner. For directory updates, please submit your requests through our ServiceNow portal csub.service-now.com/sp or contact the Helpdesk at helpdesk@csub.edu or 661-645-4357 (HELP).
Billing for Information Technology Services
The ITS Business Office processes all payments for services in ITS, which include chargebacks for the following services:
- Photo ID
- Media Lab
- Guest Access
- Telecommunications (phones)
- Hardware Repair Parts
- GWAR Exam scoring
- Software
Student Opinion of Curriculum and Instructions (SOCI)
The ITS Business Office processes all department SOCI's at the end of each semester. SOCI's are turned into your Dean's office who will start the process and deliver the SOCI's to the ITS Business office. During this process, SOCI's are scanned, and a report is generated for each class. Once the reports are generated, the Dean's office is contacted to retrieve the report and supporting documentation.
