Dr. Linh Bui
Dr. Linh N. Bui, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Public Health Program in the Nursing Department at California State University, Bakersfield.
Dr. Bui is a health policy and health services researcher whose research focuses on healthcare delivery reforms and innovations, especially for women, children, and persons with mental illnesses. Some of her current research examining the implementation and impacts of innovations in maternal and child health (i.e., telehealth for prenatal and postnatal care, or use of decision support tools for preeclampsia management) and behavioral health (i.e., integration of behavioral health services in the hospital emergency department).
Before joining California State University, Bakersfield, Dr. Bui was a Health Equity and Implementation Science Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley and Sutter Health. She received a PhD in Public Health with a Health Policy concentration from Oregon State University, and a MS in International Public Health from the University of Sydney, Australia.

Dr. Andrea Lopez
Dr. Andrea Lopez, Ph.D., MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Public Health Program in the Department of Kinesiology at California State University, Bakersfield.
Dr. Lopez is a mixed method public health researcher and her interests include understanding how policy impacts health, examining factors that impact Latinx health, and evaluating health promotion programs.
Dr. Lopez has experience conducting community needs assessments and community-based participatory research. Prior to joining CSUB, she worked as a Project Manager at the RAND Corporation and at the University of California, San Francisco. She received her Ph.D. in Public Health from UC Merced, her MPH from UCLA, and her undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Brown University.

Dr. Chia Thao
Chia earned her PhD. from the University of California, Merced, in the Public Health Program in the Fall of 2021. She has worked as a lecturer at the California State University of Fresno, Department of Public Health, since 2012. She holds a BS in Health Science with a minor in Gerontology and an MPH with a Community Health Promotion concentration at Fresno State. She also earned two distinguished Health Policy and Non-profit Management & Leadership certificates at California State University, Fresno. In addition, Chia has more than 15+ years of work experience working with Community Benefit Organizations (CBOs) and coordinating health education and promotion programs in the Central Valley. She is the current President of the Board of Directors for a non-profit organization called Elder Abuse Services Inc and a board member of the Fresno Asian Business Institute and Resource Center (ABIRC).
Prior to joining California State University of Bakersfield, Chia was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Health Equity Research group at UC Merced, working on multiple research projects and collaborating with various community organizations, staff, and outreach workers, and participates in data analysis. She publishes multiple study manuscripts and presentations. She published articles in journals such as the Journal of Integrated Pest Management, Journal of Human Medicine, Archives of Psychology, Journals of Hmong Studies, Journal of Health Equity, Journal of Asthma, Frontiers, American Journal of Public Health, and Journal of ArgoMedicine.
