Cal Employee Connect
Cal Employee Connect (CEC) is a tool provided by the State Controller's Office (SCO) that allows current and former state employees 24/7 safe and secure access to view their earnings statements (including Direct Deposit Advice - DDA), W-2s along with personal information, and enroll or change their direct deposit or tax withholding information.
This portal is secure, web-based, and self-serve, allowing remote access from anywhere. CSUB employees can easily register once they have received their first paycheck.
Note: The electronic Direct Deposit form can only be access from the campus network, using an authorized IP address. If you are off campus, you will need to connect via GlobalProtect VPN. For assistance with VPN connections, please contact ITS at (661) 654-4357.

To register, you will need the following information from a single earnings statement (paper warrant/paystub or direct deposit advice): 1. Go to Cal Employee Connect - https://connect.sco.ca.gov/ 2. Select Register Follow the prompts with these helpful tips: Note: If using the View Paycheck feature in myHR, this number is referred to as the Paycheck Number. You will need to enter this number by adding a leading zero and in the format shown
in CEC. (Example 0X-XXXXXX) Once registered, you will be able to login to: Step 1: Register on Cal Employee Connect and log in (see instructions above). Step 2: Your account must have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled to enroll in or
change Direct Deposit. MFA provides an added layer of security for your CEC account. Step 3: Click Direct Deposit. Select the type of enrollment (new or change), the account
type (checking or savings), and then fill in the routing number, deposit account number,
and bank information requested. Please contact your financial institution if you need
assistance with the deposit account information. You will receive a confirmation email
sent to the email address linked to your CEC account. If you have any questions regarding Cal Employee Connect or Direct Deposit, please email Payroll Services at payroll@csub.edu. If you have any questions regarding the in-person live pay warrant distribution
process, please email the Cashier’s Office at cashiersoffice@csub.edu. Email your Payroll Technician, and explain that you no longer have access to the campus
portal and would like to enroll in CEC. You will need the following important pieces of information to register in Cal Employee
Connect (CEC): Earnings Statement Number (e.g. 0X-XXXXXX) CEC is available for use 24/7 and from any device. You can access CEC by using this link: https://connect.sco.ca.gov/Frequently Asked Questions

Note: If using the View Paycheck feature in myHR add “Total Taxes” and “Total Deductions”
together to get the deduction total needed for the verification

To enable MFA, click on your name in the top-right of the CEC home page, then click
User Profile > Turn On MFA. You may use Duo Mobile or other MFA apps. If you need

You will receive a validation email with a security notice indicating you are making
a change to your Cal Employee Connect account. Enter the validation code and click
Submit. (The code will expire after 30 minutes. If you need your code sent again,
click Resend.)
Total Deductions
Once you have the necessary paystub/paycheck information (i.e., Department = CSUB,
Agency Code = 273, Check/Advice Number, and Total Deductions) required by CEC, you
can begin the process of creating a CEC account to download and print your W-2 and
your earnings statements/direct deposit advices.
Step 1: Register on Cal Employee Connect and log in (see instructions above).
Step 2: Your account must have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled to complete the
electronic Withholdings Change form via Cal Employee Connect. MFA provides an added

Step 3: Click on Employee Services in the menu ribbon, then click on Withholdings Change.
Complete and submit the electronic Withholdings Change form. To validate the withholdings
change, you will be asked to electronically verify your social security number and
date of birth.
After submitting a Withholdings Change form via CEC, the employee and HR office will
receive an email confirmation regarding the submitted Withholdings Change form. Please
note, the employee confirmation email will be directed to the email currently linked
to your CEC account.
