On behalf of the Office of Human Resources, welcome to California State University, Bakersfield! Please review the information and tools below to support your success.
`Runner Starting Line
Getting Started
Parking - You can park in any parking lot on campus. Individuals who drive to work and park must display a valid permit, park in a metered space or purchase a daily parking permit from a dispenser located at each entrance to the University. Employees can enroll or cancel payroll-deducted parking through the Office of Human Resources.
Buses - Did you know that CSUB offers 50% off monthly GET bus passes to faculty and staff? After the discount, the pass comes out to $20 for 31 consecutive
days.
To get your bus pass, go to the CSUB Cashier's Office and pay with cash or check.
You must bring your faculty or staff ID card.
For questions, call the Cashier's Office at 661-654-3222.
Schedule an I-9 appointment using the link from the New Hire Packet email.
Please bring your acceptable forms of identification to complete your I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
Address: 9001 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93311
We are located inside the Administration building (Office 104). Use Parking Lot F around the back of the campus (southwest side).
You will see a long ramp which leads to the back of our office. Please park at the meters along the backside of our building. Do not park in regular parking spaces (unless you have a CSUB-issued parking permit) or you will be cited. Meter fees are $.25 for every 10 minutes. This appointment should take no longer than about 30 minutes but plan to bring some quarters to be safe.
All CSUB community members are issued a RunnerCard, or campus identification card. Each RunnerCard is tied to an eAccount, which can be used like a debit card to purchase food at all on-campus dining locations. It can also be used as a key/proxy card to enter buildings/offices.
Keys and card access for Faculty, Staff, and Students can be requested on a Key Request Form.
These forms must be signed by a Dean or a Department Head prior to issuance of keys or granting of access.
Visit Lower Level of the Walter Stiern Library in Lab A to obtain your RunnerCard.
NetID is your unique account username. Your CSUB NetID is the first part of your email before the "@" sign. For example:
If your email is: rrunner5@csub.edu...
Then, your CSUB NetID is: rrunner5
New employees who do not have an existing account with CSUB will receive an email with information on how to claim their new account. Employees with a prior relationship with CSUB and an existing account can work with their department to get the information needed to reset their existing account password.
Employees can also use NetID Account Lookup instructions to reclaim their account and set up their password in MyID.
Every day passwords are guessed, hacked or stolen by email phishing attacks. When this happens the safety of our private data is put at risk. 2Step Verification for your CSUB account adds a second layer of security and keeps your account protected - even if your password is compromised.
CSUB is excited to join others in the CSU system, private industry, and financial institutions who have also secured their most sensitive data with 2Step verification.
By verifying your identity using a second factor, like a small hardware device or smartphone app, 2Step prevents anyone but you from accessing your account. If someone steals your credentials and tries to access your account, your username and password will not be sufficient to log in. The thief will also need to have access to your device to complete the login process. If someone else tries to log in to your account, you will be notified on your device and you can deny them access instantaneously.
