Any suspected breaches of confidential information should be reported immediately
to informationsecurity@csub.edu. Reportable incidents do not mean just breaches of campus servers. They may also
include lost paper files, lost laptops, lost storage devices, malware, viruses, account
compromises, etc. The University bears a heavy burden in reporting the potential loss
of confidential information, so everyone has an obligation to report suspected breaches.
Emergencies or threats
Ifthere is an emergency situation or a threat to a person's safety, call 911. If the
emergency or threat involves technology, after contacting the University Police, please
submit your incident information in email to InformationSecurity@csub.edu or contact the ISO at 661-654-3425.
Property loss or damage
If there is a property loss or damage, please contact University Police at 661-654-2677
or 661-321-6288. If the property loss or damage involves technology, after contacting

Spam and phishing messages
For email spam or phishing messages, follow the instructions called "How do I report
SPAM or Phishing emails?" at www.csub.edu/office365/faq/email. If you responded to a phishing message and provided your myCSUB username and password,
please change your password immediately and report the incident to the Helpdesk at 661-654-2307.
Computer Malware
For incidents such as an infected system (i.e., it has been infected by malware or
you suspect that someone has access to your username and password), loss of a computer,
exposure of protected information, etc., report it to the Helpdesk at 661-654-2307.
Breach of Confidential Information
If you believe there is an existing or imminent security breach which is causing or
will result in unauthorized access or exposure to confidential information, please
call the Information Security Office at 661-654-3425 and follow up with an email to InformationSecurity@csub.edu. If after hours, contact University Police at 661-654-2677 or 661-321-6288 and follow
up with an email to InformationSecurity@csub.edu.
